Second is prepping the neighbors. Often a buyer will pull up to a home, look at the run-down neighbor, and accelerate away. If friendly people live next door, their manners can help offset their yard, so savvy sellers will encourage them to greet buyers and clean up. Third is neutralizing smells. Quick ways to remove old smells include cleaning carpets, changing filters, washing curtains and painting.
